Many who watched the 84th Annual Academy Awards witnessed Robert Downey Jr. having one of the more unique and memorable moments on stage with Gwyneth Paltrow, delivering a clever bit geared in the direction of documentaries.
But backstage, Downey, Jr. actually had arguably his best moment of the night (or his worst), giving a quick shout-out to the sports world and one of its best stories over the last year.
It was finally a step away from the Jeremy Lin spotlight. Although, it was quickly a step back in the direction of one Tim Tebow.
Yes, Robert Downey, Jr. was caught “Tebowing” at the 2012 Oscars.

Upon checking Tebow’s Twitter account, there is no acknowledgement of the act. Perhaps he missed the event, or is still out at an Oscars party. Maybe he’s out giving a motivational speech to University of Florida alumni. Hey, I’m providing all realistic options here, right?
Okay, the first option is more likely.
If only Robert Downey Jr. had come out on stage wearing a “Linsanity” shirt. That way, he could have taken out “two birds with one stone”.
Oh well, maybe next time, right?
