Here are three NASCAR Headlines from Sunday’s cup race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Denny Hamlin leads the way:
1. Dominating Day For Denny
He guaranteed a win. He even tweeted as such. It didn’t matter that he started 32nd. The driver of the No. 11 car worked his way through the field at Loudon, and once he got to the front, nobody was going to catch him. He led 193 of the 300 laps. And when he finished his victory burnouts, he got out of his car, and made a Babe Ruth-ish gesture, imitating what the Bambino did in the 1932 World Series.

2. Johnson takes the points lead
The driver of the No. 48 finished second on Hamlin’s dominating day, and it was good enough to take over the lead in the Chase. He’s one point ahead of Brad Keselowski, who finished sixth.
3. A personal reflection from Loudon
It was a spectacular weather day in New Hampshire for a race. And NHMS was packed. It wasn’t a sellout, but it was pretty darn close. It was the biggest crowd I’ve seen in the last several races up there. The race itself was pretty uneventful, featuring long, green-flag runs. There were only four cautions: three of them for debris, the other was a competition yellow due to overnight rain. So this race moved right along. But if you were looking for any on-track incidents, you didn’t find them here.
