Picking your nose is a disgusting habit – but to “Pick Your Knows“?  No way.

Attention: Dallas Cowboys and Minnesota Vikings – is it time to hit that panic button yet?

Maybe not, but Dallas has its hands full with the undefeated (and confident) Texans waiting.  Meanwhile, the Vikings and Brett Favre have been struggling – and all attempts to deal for Vincent Jackson appear to have failed.

For me, the struggles also continue – and it hasn’t been the greatest start to the season in regards to making picks.  But to this point, at least I’m consistent.

Last Week:             8-8

Season:             16-16pick-your-knows

Here are my picks for Week 3 (spreads as they appear through CBSSports.com).

Pick Your Knows: NFL Week 3 Picks Against the Spread

Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens (-10.5)

Joe Flacco (17-for-39, 4 INT last week) has struggled, but expect a turnaround from the Ravens offense at home against the Browns.

KP’s Pick: Baltimore

Cincinnati Bengals at Carolina Panthers (+3.5)

I don’t give Jimmy Clausen much chance in his debut against a Bengals team that saw a solid rebound last week against the Ravens.

KP’s Pick: Cincinnati

Dallas Cowboys at Houston Texans (-2.5)

KP thinks that with their backs against the wall, Romo and the Cowboys find a way in Houston

The Texans had a brilliant comeback against Washington last week – being 17 down in the 3rd quarter – but they allowed Washington’s offense to light them up.  Perhaps, Dallas will wake up, too – especially with their backs against the wall.

KP’s Pick: Dallas

San Francisco 49ers at Kansas City Chiefs (+1.5)

The biggest matchup of this game will be 49ers RB Frank Gore against the Kansas City run defense, which has played well in the season’s opening weeks. Give the edge to Gore.

KP’s Pick: San Francisco

Detroit Lions at Minnesota Vikings (-10.5)

Brett Favre has struggled – throwing just 1 TD vs. 4 INT’s in the opening two weeks.  The Lions have played competitive football against the Eagles and Bears.  This one remains close.

KP’s Pick: Detroit

Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots (-13.5)

Tom Brady was noticeably agitated during the press conference after last week’s loss to the Jets. Expect him to take out his frustration at home against Ryan Fitzpatrick and the hapless Bills.

KP’s Pick: New England

Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints (-5.5)

The Falcons rebounded nicely with a blowout of Arizona last week – and even with this game in New Orleans, the Saints will miss Reggie Bush’s versatility.  This one goes down to the wire.

KP’s Pick: Atlanta

Tennessee Titans at New York Giants (-2.5)

The season may still be in its infancy, but the Titans have the best pass defense over the first two weeks.  Eli and the Giants struggled against the Colts, and they’ll face problems again.

KP’s Pick: Tennessee

Pittsburgh Steelers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+2.5)

Sure, the Bucs are 2-0 and playing at home – but the young Tampa Bay offense will struggle against a Pittsburgh defense that has shut down Atlanta and Tennessee in the opening weeks.

KP’s Pick: Pittsburgh

Philadelphia Eagles at Jacksonville Jaguars (+2.5)

Michael Vick has been named the starter in Philadelphia – and that’s the story of the week.  The story this week will be how he continues to put up Pro Bowl-like numbers.

KP’s Pick: Philadelphia

Washington Redskins at St. Louis Rams (+3.5)

The Redskins defense has been solid, with exception to the final quarter and a half against Houston.  Expect Haslett and the ‘Skins to give rookie Sam Bradford headaches all day long.

KP’s Pick: Washington

Oakland Raiders at Arizona Cardinals (-4.5)

The Jason Campbell experiment in Oakland appears to have met a quick ending.  No matter how bad the Cards were last week, Bruce Gradkowski and the Raiders won’t have enough.

KP’s Pick: Arizona

Indianapolis Colts at Denver Broncos (+6.5)

The Colts were stellar at home against the Giants last Sunday night.  With the biggest piece of Denver’s pass rush lost for the year, expect Peyton to have time to pick the Broncos apart.

KP’s Pick: Indianapolis

San Diego Chargers at Seattle Seahawks (+5.5)

The injury to Ryan Mathews is concerning, but Mike Tolbert stepped in – plus Malcolm Floyd had a much better week establishing himself as a weapon in the San Diego passing game.

KP’s Pick: San Diego

New York Jets at Miami Dolphins (-2.5)

This may wind up as the game of the week – with Revis ruled out and the Dolphins defense playing well, led by Dansby.  This one comes down to the young QB’s Henne and Sanchez.  I give the edge to the Revis-less Jets in a close one on the road.

KP’s Pick: New York Jets

Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears (+2.5)

The Bears surprised a lot of people by knocking off the Cowboys and getting to 2-0.  But the Dallas offense was sputtering, and Green Bay’s is not.  The Packers pick up the Monday night win on the road – and by at least a field goal.

KP’s Pick: Green Bay
