Americans love their football. Europeans also love their football. Ted Lasso loves football?
Each is obviously not the same, and while a number of Americans do have an appreciation for the game of soccer, it will never compare to our country’s overall love for football.
The differences are there, and we love to make fun of them.
Often. Very often.
But apparently, no one can poke fun at the differences between soccer and football better than SNL-alum Jason Sudeikis, as proven in the mock interview, “An American Coach in London”, a clip meant to promote the Premier League on NBC.
Sudeikis plays Ted Lasso, an American football coach that recently took on the head coaching position with Tottenham Hotspur.
The video – just under five minutes in length and posted by NBC Sports to its YouTube account – is gut-bustingly funny, with numerous zings directed at the game of soccer, its rules, the Dallas Cowboys, Jennifer Lawrence, and a whole lot more.
For me, this video is an absolute gem, and one of the funnier promotional clips that I’ve seen in some time. Check it out and let me know if you agree.
Again… bravo, NBC. Even THE WIFE loved this, and laughed numerous times.
The video seriously makes me want to watch more soccer, but only if it’s not during football season.
Thank you for visiting The Wife Hates Sports!

Sudeikis is funny , but not really that talented . Cerebral and superior to Jim Carrey , in that respect . Yet Jason Sudeikis does manage to pull the cics (Anniston and Cameron Diaz to name but a few) . So I guess he must have something going for him . A big wand ?
My job just got a lot easier. Ties and no playoffs.
