The Oregon Ducks unique weekly uniform selection has become as common in college football as tailgating.
With the Ducks officially playing in its first BCS National Championship game, the official release of the team’s uniform for the big game was a story in itself.
Today, Oregon and Nike officially released the new duds for the Ducks – and here’s an image as posted by CNBC sports business reporter Darren Rovell (via Twitpic):
Honest opinion: It’s a sweet look for the Ducks – and I personally am very much a big fan of the “all white” jersey concept. Plus, the unique neon number trim and socks really pop. That spicy color addition is something that would make Digger Phelps proud – and jealous, too.
What are your thoughts on Oregon’s unis for the National Championship?
And while we’re talking about the “Natty”, who do you think will win the championship, and by how much?

As always, thank you for visiting The Wife Hates Sports!
Actually they don’t really have “sets” of uniforms. They have a wide variety of colors in tops, pants, helmets, cleats, and sleeves. Theoretically, there are over 300 different combinations of uniforms. My personal favorite is black socks with yellow cleats because the socks make they’re legs look skinny and the cleats look like duck feet. Pretty cool.
Daniel–
It’s a cool concept… complete opposite side of the spectrum, say when compared to a team like Penn State.
oregon has worn a different jersey for every game
Hey Charles,
Thanks for dropping by and clarifying on how Oregon chooses jerseys during the football season. Much appreciated and good info to know in the future…
Happy New Year to you, and enjoy the rest of the college football bowl season.
Take care – KP
Actually, every week the Oregon jerseys are chosen by the Oregon golf team, coached by former PGA pro Casey Martin, of the famed golf cart Supreme Court case. I believe these jerseys, however, were designed and chosen by Nike, obviously with Chip Kelly’s and the University of Oregon’s consent.
AERO & REV–
Ha ha… seriously. As Rev said, there aren’t even that many games in the season. I believe I read somewhere that Oregon actually has a committee of players that discusses what the uniforms will be before the game.
Oregon has to be Nike’s favorite client in football.
Dude, exactly how many uniforms do the Ducks have exactly?
There’s not even that many games in a season.
Nice uniforms. I hope their coaches do as good a job as their designers. I like the Ducks, but I think it will be Auburn that comes out with a victory in a close game.
