I’m very proud to announce that I have been named a finalist for the 2010 Last Fan Standing Contest.  It’s an honor to be among this select group.

Before I dive further, I’d like to extend a huge THANK YOU for being considered.

“Congratulations! From the thousands of entries we’ve received, you’ve been selected to be one of the 64 blogger contestants to participate in Last Fan Standing 2010! You will be assigned your tourney team on March 17th, so look for that email.”

So what’s next, you may ask?

Well, there are a few things to point out.  First, I will be posting some college basketball related material for this contest.  All the blogs will be posted specifically to the Last Fan Standing site (and not here, sadly).  I would like to encourage anyone interested to not just read my own material, but the other 63 writers as well.  Everyone will be posting great material about the teams playing in this year’s NCAA Tournament.

In the coming days, I will be linked to and assigned a team that’s in the field.  In particular, the rules of the contest state the following:

“Tournament Play. Each Tournament Player will be assigned one of 64 seeds in the Tournament. Tournament Players will advance only if the college basketball team that corresponds to the Tournament Player’s numerical seed (in the same region) in the national college basketball tournament advances to the next round.”

Let’s keep our collective fingers crossed that I draw a team that will make a deep March Madness tournament run!

Again, please visit the Last Fan Standing website throughout March Madness – and thanks as always for supporting The Wife Hates Sports!
