Jeff Gordon’s brilliant season continued at Michigan International Speedway over the weekend.  Combining with Joey Logano to lead 164 of the 200 laps, it was Gordon that emerged victorious at the Pure Michigan 400 on Sunday.  The win was Gordon’s third of the season.  It was a win that vaulted him to the top of the Chase Standings.  It also increased his lead in the latest edition of NASCAR Power Rankings at The Wife Hates Sports.

Dale Earnhardt Jr., who was just behind Gordon in last week’s ratings, remains in second place after a fifth place finish at Michigan.

The top five from last week remains unchanged.  Each driver in the group posted a top ten finish.  The aforementioned Logano (3rd at Michigan) remains in third place, followed by Kevin Harvick (runner-up on Sunday) and Brad Keselowski (8th place over the weekend).

Jimmie Johnson moved up one spot to sixth after posting his first top ten finish in weeks.
