Carl Edwards earned his second win of the season and his first in a road-course race, taking the checkered flag at Sonoma.  The victory bumped Edwards up four spots in the latest edition of NASCAR Power Rankings at The Wife Hates Sports.

Ratings leader Jeff Gordon was the runner-up at Sonoma, and as a result, increases his overall lead on the field in the latest poll.  Jimmie Johnson, the closest competition to Gordon, finished seventh at Sonoma and remains in second place.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished third over the weekend and moves up one spot in the rankings to third place.  Brad Keselowski and Kevin Harvick round out this week’s top five.

The aforementioned Edwards sits in eighth place.

Next up is the Quaker State 400, which will take place at Kentucky Speedway on Saturday night.
