The Showtime Southern 500 generated plenty of headlines at the Darlington Raceway on Saturday night.  Regan Smith takes his first ever checkered flag while Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick got a bit chippy with each other.  The Busch-Harvick spat was ignited following a crash with just two laps remaining in the race.  The wreck didn’t impact the latest NASCAR Power Rankings, but each finish sure did.

The incident didn’t affect Busch’s first place standing in the latest edition of our rankings, as he maintains a slight edge over Carl Edwards.

Jimmie Johnson sits in third place, followed by Clint Bowyer in fourth and Kevin Harvick in fifth.

Making significant moves this week are Kasey Kahne (up) and Jeff Gordon (up).  Meanwhile, Kurt Busch, Matt Kenseth and Paul Menard each fell four spots in the latest rankings.  Kurt Busch and Menard, specifically, each fell out of this week’s top ten.
