Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin, two drivers from the Joe Gibbs Racing team, continued to have success at Richmond.  Busch edged out Hamlin for the win this week.  The result: Kyle Busch remains on top of the latest edition of our NASCAR Power Rankings, increasing his lead over Carl Edwards (second) and Jimmie Johnson (third).

Clint Bowyer and Kevin Harvick round out this week’s top five.

Also making significant moves this week are Denny Hamlin (up six spots) and Kasey Kahne (also up six).  Tony Stewart also climbed back into the top ten.

On the flip side, Kurt Busch, Jeff Gordon and Martin Truex Jr. all had down weeks.  Busch falls three slots to 8th place, Gordon drops to 16th and Truex Jr. barely remains inside the top 20.

Kyle Busch continues to cruise at the top of the Power Rankings at The Wife Hates Sports

The Wife Hates Sports has vowed to get more involved with NASCAR, and that’s why I am proud to introduce Bill Schneider, who will present his NASCAR power ratings on a weekly basis.  I know you will see his ratings system as unique and different than the rest.  He also infuses stats and involves recent results during the NASCAR season. – Kevin Paul
