So maybe you’re asking yourself “What is ‘The Wife Hates Sports’” all about? Maybe you aren’t asking that – but either way, you’re going to hear about it anyway.

First, there’s the phrase “the wife”.  If you’re a man, you know that you don’t have to be married to have a female be referred to as “the wife”.  Call it a term of endearment from guy to guy, when the boys are out having a few beers, the question pops up like A-Rod used to in the playoffs… “How’s the wife?”  She could be a wife, a girlfriend, or heck, even a close friend that the boys feel you could be secretly dating… no matter what she is, she’s often referred to as “the wife”.

Second, there’s the “hate”.  Sure, hate is a strong word, but in so many cases, it accurately describes how the women in our lives feel about sports.  Sure, not all women, and we’ll try and highlight them as well.

Third, there are the sports.  First and foremost, this will be a sports site, and one that its writers attempt to focus on as many teams as possible for all of the major sports.  Sure, as fans, we have the teams that we root for, but this site will never be a “homer site”.

Finally, as a whole, The Wife Hates Sports will be a sports website that ties in the relationships in life, mainly (but not limited to) the ongoing battle of men against the women that can’t stand sports.  On top of that, we will tie in the entertainment industry, women that are sports lovers, and a whole lot more.

This is the vision of the site, and while still in its early stages, we are hopeful that we can continue to grow and find a unique niche in the sports blogging community.
