Everyone knows that in the game of soccer (or football, according to the rest of the world), using your head is encouraged. Javier Hernandez took that concept just a bit outside of its context.
Hernandez, a member of the Manchester United powerhouse, scored a key goal in Man U’s 3-1 victory over Chelsea during the 88th Annual FA Community Shield 2010, which took place last weekend at London’s Wembley Stadium.
But it’s exactly how Hernandez scored the goal.
Javier Hernandez, taking a centering pass, attempted to launch the ball into the back of the net, which he did successfully. Only, the shot went straight off his face first.
The highlight – or lowlight, depending on how you look at it – is a must watch. That’s really the only way a fan can see how he managed this.
