It didn’t take long for Jeff Gordon to return to the top of the mountain.  At least, that’s the case when it comes to the latest NASCAR Power Rankings at The Wife Hates Sports.

After sputtering to a 26th place finish at Loudon a few weeks ago, Gordon returned to Victory Lane at the Brickyard over the weekend.

Gordon’s win, his fifth at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, set a new NASCAR record.

The victory pushed Gordon back to the top of The Wife Hates NASCAR Power Rankings, gaining an eleven-plus ratings point edge over Dale Earnhardt Jr., who moves up one spot to second place.  Brad Keselowski fell two spots to third.  Joey Logano and Kevin Harvick round out the top five.

Kasey Kahne had a solid run at the Brickyard, leading a race-high 70 laps on the day, and eventually finishing in sixth.  The result pushed Kahne up one spot and into this week’s top ten.

Jimmie Johnson fell out of the top five for the first time in weeks.
