Kevin Harvick earned the pole and led for 239 laps at Darlington.  Harvick still needed to manage through a green-white-checkered finish in order to emerge victorious at last weekend’s Southern 500.  The win bumped Harvick up five spots in the latest edition of NASCAR Power Rankings at The Wife Hates Sports.  As a result, Harvick opens the week in the top ten and sit in ninth place.

Another top ten finish helped Jeff Gordon maintain first position, with Matt Kenseth also holding onto second.  Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kyle Busch and Jimmie Johnson round out this week’s top five.

The aforementioned Harvick is the week’s biggest mover (jumping five spots), along with Greg Biffle and Ryan Newman, who also gained five spots in the latest rankings.  Dale Earnhardt Jr. also landed on the list, jumping three spots to third place.
