Kansas winner Jimmie Johnson and Carl Edwards are within striking distance of Kyle Busch for the NASCAR Power Rankings lead.  Each are approximately four ratings points behind the top spot.

Rounding out the top five this week are Jeff Gordon (4th) and Matt Kenseth (in 5th).

Paul Menard is the week’s biggest mover after his strong run at Kansas, gaining two spots and into the top 20.  Mark Martin, Jimmie Johnson and Matt Kenseth also had solid weeks at Kansas.

On the flip side, Juan Pablo Montoya is the biggest loser of the week, dropping three spots to 22nd place.  Carl Edwards, Kurt Busch and Denny Hamlin all also had difficult runs.

The Wife Hates Sports has vowed to get more involved with NASCAR, and that’s why I am proud to introduce Bill Schneider, who will present his NASCAR power ratings on a weekly basis.  I know you will see his ratings system as unique and different than the rest.  He also infuses stats and involves recent results during the NASCAR season. – Kevin Paul
