After the closest race in history, Jimmie Johnson left Talladega Superspeedway with the victory, and as a result, closed the gap on Kyle Busch in our latest NASCAR Power Rankings.
Also making significant moves this week are Clint Bowyer (up) and Jamie McMurray (down). Dale Earnhardt, Jr. also continued to climb the charts, jumping to the sixth spot. Earnhardt, Jr. has seven straight finishes in the top fifteen.
Elsewhere, Carl Edwards has five top ten finishes over his last six races. Edwards sits in third place in the latest rankings, behind the aforementioned Kyle Busch and Jimmie Johnson. Clint Bowyer sits fourth place followed by Kurt Busch in fifth.
Here’s how the rest stack up following the race at Talladega:
The Wife Hates NASCAR Power Rankings
After Week 8 – Talladega
The Wife Hates Sports has vowed to get more involved with NASCAR, and that’s why I am proud to introduce Bill Schneider, who will present his NASCAR power ratings on a weekly basis. I know you will see his ratings system as unique and different than the rest. He also infuses stats and involves recent results during the NASCAR season. – Kevin Paul
Hate all you want, REV… because of Bill’s ranking system, I picked up some quality followers on my @TheWifeHates twitter account, all NASCAR folks who were very friendly – and I hope they will continue to stop by talk about the races with Bill and I. I need to get Bill to drop by here and more and pitch in some additional conversation…
Later man… KP
What’s all this talk about hockey and NASCAR?
I though this website was called “The wife hates SPORTS.”
